For the past several decades, the traditional medical community has by and large ignored, misdiagnosed, and mistreated millions of women and men suffering from symptoms of hormone imbalance such as weight gain, low sex drive, fatigue, hot flashes, foggy thinking and depression. Synthetic hormone replacement therapy (HRT), the most common choice for treatment, has been clinically proven to be dangerous. Still, doctors continue to prescribe HRT and put the health – and even the lives – of millions of patients at risk. In this new, expanded edition of their successful book From Hormone Hell to Hormone Well, C.W. Randolph, Jr., M.D. and Genie James team up to challenge the pharmaceutical industry's ongoing promotion of HRT as well as the physicians this industry has brainwashed.
A world-renowned expert and co-founder of The Natural Hormone Institute of America, Dr. Randolph has for more than a decade used bio-identical hormone replacement therapies (BHRT) to safely and effectively treat thousands of women and men for decades. He'll help you: - Refuse to buy into HRT's 'one-size-fits-all' approach
- Make lifestyle choices to naturally support your body's optimum 'hormonal equilibrium' at any age.
- End the suffering caused by hormone imbalances during perimenopause, menopause and andropause (male menopause), and Feel like yourself again.

| Recommended by my doctor. Concise, easy to understand explanations with examples of real situations. I feel less crazy now and will be getting bioidentical hormone testing soon. Written by a man, however, his wife gets credit for work on this and his experiences led him down this road. Read the forward/intro for his story. |

| Finally, a book that explains hormonal imbalances in a clear, concise manner. I have read a dozen or so books dealing with hormones and the debilitating imbalances that sometimes occur. Dr. Randolph has done a remarkable job (along with his wife and co-author, Ms. James)explaining the basics of hormones, their roles in our bodies, and the symptons of imbalance. More importantly, he offers REAL treatment that includes dietary changes, stress management, supplements and bioidentical hormones (No synthetic hormones for this Doc). Thank you Dr. Randolph for a brilliant resource for women who yearn for the knowledge you give! |

For years I have thought my hormones needed to be tested, but couldn't get my Doctor to agree...then I found a doctor who told me to read this book and it has changed my life.
So many things were explained to me in this book and I finally felt like I wasn't alone in what I was feeling and going through. And it was explained in a way that was easy to understand. I read the entire book in one evening...I couldn't stop reading...
I will be getting more copies of this book to give to my female friends... |
bio-identical hormone replacement

Dr. Randolph formulates his own bio-identical creams and sells them under his own name. He is concerned that doctors today prescribe synthetic hormone replacements--usually estrogens--which may exacerbate the problem most pre and post menopausal women have: namely, the condition of being estrogen dominant. The typical presenting problems of this population of women include swelling breasts or breast tenderness, urine retention, bloating, emotional volatility, weight gain, sleeping problems, and hot flashes--all of which are considered to be problems related to diminished levels of estrogen. But the estrogen link to breast cancer and cardiac problems convinced Randolph that the problem was unopposed estrogen. Women were also suffering from progesterone (the "feel good" hormone) deficiency. Merely prescribing estrogen replacements increased the level of unopposed estrogen in a women's body and made her more vulnerable to more serious health problems down the road.
Randolph recommends women take a saliva test and then have a hormonal preparation custom-made to their body chemistry. The bio-identical he compares to the lock and key--a synthetic hormone will not fit well into the receptor sites of the body, whereas the bio-identical fits in as a key in to the lock.
